Anyone who's known me for more than five minutes will tell you that I have a thing for shoes that borders on obsessive. If there were a Heels Anonymous support group I'd be there every week, and it's only a lack of funds that has prevented me from acquiring a shoe-drobe to rival Rachel Zoe's. My shoe collection is precious: I'm perfectly happy to let Mini-Me wreak havoc in my jewellery box, but if she makes a move towards my Giuseppe Zanotti wedges, there'll be trouble.

So, with my overdraft in mind, I set out to find sensibly-priced alternatives to some of my favourite shoes. And since it's January and we're probably all in the same boat money-wise, I thought I'd share my findings. What do you think? Do you seek out high street imitations of those designer heels you'd be saving for months to buy otherwise (only to find they're out of stock in your size)?
